Feud within the Formula One Family

Team Ferrari doesn't need this. Especially now that they are ready to overtake Renault for the championship lead.

Apparently, Jacques Villeneuve has been verbally abusing Ferrari ace driver, Michael Schumacher, lately and although Schumacher is refusing to rise to the bate set out by Jacques Villeneuve for a war-of-words, that doesn't mean his teammate Felipe Massa isn't willing to take a nibble.

Last week, Villeneuve slated Schumacher, saying not only is the German a ''dirty'' driver but ''he isn't a great human being.''

''I think the problem is that you don't ever see his true personality,'' Villeneuve continued in his interview with an F1 Racing magazine.

''He's a racer, but a pure racer, nothing but a racer and, because of that, I think the day he hangs up his helmet people will just forget him,'' Villeneuve added.

However, Villeneuve's attack may just be a case of jealousy, after all, according to Massa, the 1997 World Champion will never be as good a driver as Schumacher is.

''Jacques is a very good driver with a lot of talent but Michael is simply better,'' GMM quoted Massa as telling Eurosport Automagazin.

''He always does what is necessary. It is difficult to name another driver of his calibre.''
